Lutes End Up 29th at Husky Invitational

FEDERAL WAY - Pacific Lutheran chose to scratch out of Sunday's finals and as a result ended up placing 29th in the team standings at the 63rd Annual Husky Invitational swimming meet that concluded after a three-day run at the King County Aquatic Center.

The Lutes ended up with 74 points and finished fourth among Northwest Conference teams entered in the event. Whitworth was ninth with 566 points, while Puget Sound was 11th with 474 points and Whitman took 18th with 178. Lewis & Clark was 45th overall with one point.

University of British Columbia took first place with 2,546.5 points, followed by Grand Canyon with 2,521.5 points.

"We chose not to swim any of our finals swims at the Husky so that everybody could get back to campus for homework," head coach Matt Sellman said.

The Lutes are now finished with the first half of their competitive season. They will return to practice following Christmas in order to prepare for CLU Winter Invitational scheduled for Dec. 30 in Thousand Oaks, Calif.
