Great Round for Lutes, Who Finish Eighth

OLYMPIA - Pacific Lutheran shot its best competitive round of women's golf in at least several years on Saturday, carding a 342 on the way to an eighth-place finish at the Saint Martin's Invitational held at Olympia Golf & Country Club.

With Whitney Hobbs shooting a two-over 75 today, the Lutes carded a 342 to go along with a 375 during Friday's first round and a 716 total. Western Washington shot 315-316 to win the team title with a 631, followed by Victoria at 645 and Hawaii-Hilo at 646.

Western's Sophoe Elstrott was medalist with a two-over-par 148 coming on rounds of 73 and 75.

For the Lutes, Hobbs shot 88-75 for a 163, good for a 17th-place tie. Kristina Norlin shot 98-85 - 183, followed by Julie Heffernan at 99-89 - 188, Paige Henry 97-93 - 190, and Karina Nelson 91-105-196.
