Lutes Guard Shooting Among The Nation's Best
Pacific Lutheran guard Shelly Kilcup is shooting lights out from three-point range this season. The redshirt frosh from Fife, Wash., is shooting at a rate that not only leads the Northwest Conference, but puts her among the nation's best sharpshooters.
Kilcup is shooting an outstanding 33-for-66 this season from behind the arc. Her shooting percentage of 50 percent ranks her second in the nation. She trails only senior Chelsie Schweers from Christopher Newport University of Virginia, who is shooting 51.7 percent from three this season.
Kilcup, who paces the Lutes with 11.1 points per game, also leads the way for PLU as the team ranks second in the NWC in overall three-point percentage behind Whitworth University. The Pirates are shooting 38.2 percent from three while the Lutes shoot an even 38 percent from behind the arc.
