PLU Women Picked Seventh in Preseason Poll

NWC Preseason Poll

Northwest Conference women's basketball coaches have picked national champion George Fox to successfully defend its conference title and have chosen Pacific Lutheran to place seventh, according to the preseason poll released on Thursday.

George Fox picked up eight first place votes and tallied 88 of 90 possible points in the poll.  The Bruins will have to overcome the graduation of 2009 NWC Player of the Year Kristen Shielee and the loss of First Team All-NWC guard Sage Indendi.

Pacific Lutheran, which picked up 31 points in the coaches voting, has to replace its entire starting lineup after finishing sixth during the 2008-09 conference season.
