Three Transfers, Three Frosh Join Women's Hoops Program

PLU Head Coach Kelly Robinson

Pacific Lutheran women's basketball head coach Kelly Robinson (Warnke) has announced a 2009 recruiting class that includes three transfers and three frosh.

Transfer student-athletes joining the Lutes for the 2009-10 season are Mandy Wall, a 5-9 junior guard from Clark Community College, Alya Mull, a 5-8 sophomore guard from Chaminade University, and Kelsey Olson, a 6-0 sophomore forward from Everett Community College.

Wall earned 2009 second team All-West region honors and played her prep basketball at Kalama High School. Mull, who graduated from Olympia's Capital High School, will also compete for the PLU track & field team. Olson played prep basketball for the highly regarded Cleveland High School program in Seattle.

The following frosh will also join the PLU program: Danika Goodwin, a 5-5 guard from Port Angeles High School, Shelly Kilcup, a 5-8 guard from Fife High School, and Kamy Harris, a 5-4 guard from Rim of the World High School in Crestline, Calif.

Goodwin, also a standout prep tennis player, earned 2009 West Sound all-star honors. Kilcup participated in state high school basketball, diving and soccer championships and was a member of two Fife High School state title soccer teams. Harris was a three-year starter at Rim.

"We are very excited to welcome this new class to join the tradition of excellence at PLU," Robinson said. "This group of student-athletes has enjoyed a lot of success in the classroom and the athletic field. They are excellent students and competitors and my expectations for them are very high. We will need them to contribute early and often this season in the scoring column as well as with the fundamentals and mental aspect of the game. We are very excited to welcome them as incoming Lutes."

Pacific Lutheran has compiled consecutive 14-11 records under Robinson.
