McFarland Finishes 21st at National Meet

DELAWARE, Ohio - Stephanie McFarland gained valuable experience for the future on Saturday when she finished 21st in the women's javelin at the 2011 NCAA Division III Track & Field Championships being hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.

McFarland, a frosh out of Fife High School, came into the event ranked 17th with a throw of 136-2, but she was 15 feet off her previous best on this day with a 119-2 performance. She placed 21st in a field of 22 throwers. Kelly Lovett from Carleton College won the event with a throw of 155-4.

She was Pacific Lutheran's only entrant in the national meet.
