Athletes of the Week: No. 2


Lakia Arceneaux, Beks Blakney, Kelly Fenton, Jasmine Wallace, Orion Bras and Conor McNeill have earned PLU track & field athlete of the week honors for the week of January 18-24.

Arceneaux (Puyallup, Wash. / Emerald Ridge HS), is a junior, competes in the sprints, jumps and hammer throw. Blakney (Gig Harbor, Wash./ Gig Harbor HS), is a sophmore, who competes in long distance, primarily the 10K. Fenton (Aloha, Ore./ Aloha HS), is a junior who competes in the throws. Wallace (Tacoma, Wash./ Stadium HS), is a sophmore, who competes in the throws. Bras (Kalispell, Mont./ Flathead HS), is a sophmore, who competes in the middle distances, primarily the 800m. McNeill (Elma, Wash./ Elma HS), is a junior who competes in the throws.

PLU's track & field athletes, who are currently practicing in preparation for the 2010 outdoor season, select teammates in four categories: men's track event athlete of the week, men's field event athlete of the week, women's track event athlete of the week and women's field event athlete of the week. Among the factors considered in the voting are leadership, sportsmanship, athletic performance and example as an athlete at practices and during weight lifting.
