Courtney Eronemo starts her second season as a Pacific Lutheran University swimming team assistant coach.
Eronemo competed in the 2004 (age 16) and 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials (age 20) in 200 and 400 individual medley and in the 100 butterfly. She swam at the University of California-Berkeley where she was a member of a NCAA Division I national championship team.
Prior to her collegiate career, the Washington state native was a five-time state champion in five different individual events (200 freestyle, 500 freestyle, 100 backstroke, 100 butterfly, 200 individual medley) for Kentwood High School.
While injured in 2008, Eronemo took on more of a managerial role for Cal’s swim team for part of the season. Through that experience, she found a new area of the sport to enjoy. That role, along with competing, created an appreciation for all aspects of the sport. As a result she is excited to take on a coaching role at PLU.
