Swimmers Fall to UPS in Dual Opener
TACOMA - Pacific Lutheran opened the dual meet portion of its 2009-10 swimming season by dropping men's and women's dual meets to host Puget Sound on Friday night.
The Lutes men won the first four events but couldn't hold off the Loggers, dropping a 120-84 decision. The women's portion of the meet went to UPS by a 142-62 score.
PLU's team of Alex Limoges, Phil Rempe, Rayan Carter and Jacob Nord won the meet-opening men's 200-meter medley relay in a time of 1:52.19, getting the visitors off to a solid start. John Pedack followed with a win in the 800-meter freestyle, clocking 9:52.27. Rempe touched first in the 200-meter freestyle in 2:03.55 and Nord was first in the 50-meter freestyle in 24.47, but that's when the Loggers turned the tide.
