FOREST GROVE, Ore. - Pacific Lutheran swept both ends of a Northwest Conference swimming dual meet from the host Pacific Boxers on Friday night. The PLU women took a 113-65 victory and the men battled for a 108-91 triumph.

Jessie Klauder and Courtney Karwal both won a pair of events to pace the Lute women to their win. Klauder won the 200 freestyle (2:02.49) and the 100 freestyle (56.30) and Karwal took the 1000 freestyle (11:32.59) and the 500 freestyle (5:35.27). Casey Jackson was PLU's other event winner, touching first in the 200 backstroke (2:20.24). Pacific won six of the 11 events but the Lutes used their team depth to pick up their first conference win against three defeats. The PLU women are now 3-3 overall in duals this season.

On the men's side, the Lutes opened with a victory in the 400 medley relay (3:46.01) and built up enough of a lead to hold off the Pacific challenge. Jacob Nord won the 50 freestyle (22.25) and the 100 freestyle (49.21), both season-best times. Bryce Manso won the 1000 freestyle (11:56.17), Matthew Kim was victorious in the 200 butterfly (2;14.16), Alex Limoges took the 200 backstroke (2:03.69) and John Pedack raced to a win in the 500 freestyle (5:25.38).

The Pacific Lutheran men are now 1-3 in conference duals and 2-4 for the season.

PLU faces host Linfield College at 1 p.m. Saturday in McMinnville in another Northwest Conference dual.
