Erin Van Nostrand
Title: Head Coach
Phone: 253-535-7419

Erin Van Nostrand is in her second season as Pacific Lutheran University fastpitch head coach, having led to the Lutes to an 18-22 overall record and a fourth-place finish in the Northwest Conference during the 2008 season.

Van Nostrand came to PLU from Pine Manor College in Chestnut Hill, Mass., where her teams averaged more than 25 wins per season in her four years as head coach.

Van Nostrand led Pine Manor College, like PLU an NCAA Division III institution, to a 31-11 overall record and to the 2008 Great Northeast Athletic Conference championship. The 31 wins tied a school record for most victories in a season. The Gators reached the GNAC tournament championship game where they lost to Rivier College, 2-1, denying them the opportunity to advance to NCAA Division III postseason play.

In four seasons as Pine Manor College head coach, Van Nostrand compiled a 101-62 overall record, leading the Gators to one GNAC tournament title game and to a pair of semifinal appearances.

Prior to working at Pine Manor, Van Nostrand was varsity softball coach at Freeport (N.Y.) High School, inheriting a 0-22 program and turning it into conference champion within two years.

Van Nostrand graduated from Keene State College in Keene, N.H., in 1999. She was Keene State's starting shortstop for three seasons, helping the school to a NCAA Division III softball regional championship appearance, and she also was a two-year member of the school's basketball team.

Greg Seeley
Title: Assistant Coach

Greg Seeley is in his second season as a Pacific Lutheran softball assistant coach and pitching coach.

He has been a successful high school, ASA and youth coach for many years. In six years at Eastlake and Skyline high schools, Seeley's teams qualified for the state tournament three times, finishing in the top eight each time, including a second-place finish in 2004. On two other occasions his teams were one win away from qualifying for the state tournament. Seeley has coached more than a dozen players that have gone on to play college softball. In addition, his teams won two youth state championships and finished third in state over a four-year period.

In addition to softball, Seeley has enjoyed coaching football, baseball, basketball and tennis. He has coached football for the past 10 years, the last seven at Eastlake High School in Sammamish. Greg believes that coaching affords him the opportunity to help teach young people to become passionate and confident about the challenges they face now and in the future.

Seeley completed his undergraduate study at the University of Washington and attended law school at the University of Utah. He played football for the Huskies in the early 1980s, including two Rose Bowl appearances.

Seeley, who has his own law firm in Kirkland, has been married 26 years to his wife, Margarita. They have three children: Tawnia graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in advertising; Justin is a junior at the University of Arizona; and Rachel is a freshman at the University of Washington.
