A Pair of Fourth-Place Finishes for PLU Rowers

LOWELL, Ore. - Pacific Lutheran had a pair of fourth-place finishes at the Covered Bridge Regatta held Saturday on Dexter Lake.

In the women's varsity 4 race, PLU clocked 8:38.86 to place fourth in a six-boat field. Lewis & Clark won that race with a time of 8:11.60.

The men's varsity 8 also competed, placing fourth in a seven-boat field in a time of 7:07.34. Lewis & Clark won that event as well, clocking 6:46.70.

"The team had an improved showing this week," head coach Tone Lawver said. "The men improved their time by a significant margin over last week."

The two PLU races came in the afternoon when the sun broke out and chased away cold morning air. "It was a nice change to the weather we had over the last week doing double practices during spring break," Lawver said.
