PLU Makes Quick Work of Pios in Men's Tennis

PARKLAND - Pacific Lutheran swept all three doubles matches and took five of six in singles to defeat visiting Lewis & Clark, 8-1, in a Northwest Conference men's tennis match played Saturday at Sprinker Tennis Center.

The Lutes improved to 4-4 overall and 3-4 in the conference, while Lewis & Clark is now 1-7 in both categories.

L&C's only victory came at No. 1 singles where its freshman ace, Olivier Groot, defeated Zack AhYat, 6-4, 5-2 (retired), after leg cramps prevented AhYat from continuing.

All of PLU's singles wins came in straight sets, with the wins going to Dan Cotton, Taylor Dickey, Reed Gunstone, Neal Berg and Sam Angel.

In doubles play, the teams of AhYat-Dickey, Cotton-Luke Olson and Spencer Herron-Berg all won their matches.
