200 Medley Relay Highlights PLU Men at Husky Invite

FEDERAL WAY - Pacific Lutheran had its top finish in any event through the first two days of the Husky Invitational when the Lutes men placed 13th in the 200 medley relay on Saturday evening. The event is being held at King County Aquatic Center.

Joseph Parker, Rayan Carter, Jacob Deines and Chase Mesford combined to clock 1:38.88, the 13th-place performance netting the team 30 points.

The Lutes added four points when Mesford placed 21st in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:45.34, and they got 10 more points by finishing 21st in the 800 freestyle relay, clocking 7:26.41. Members of that team were Daniel Pedack, Patrick Opie, Corban Elliot and Mesford.

University of British Columbia leads the combined score meet with a total of 1,936 points, followed by Grand Canyon University with 1,873.5. Whitworth is the top-scoring Northwest Conference team with 435 points, good for 10th place. Puget Sound is in 11th with 360, Whitman is 18th with 120 points, followed by PLU with 74 points, all of those points coming from the men's team.

The meet concludes with two sessions - prelims at 10 a.m., finals at 5 p.m. on Sunday.
