John Yorke is in his eighth season as head coach of the Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer program. He has a 71-58-8 cumulative record, including a 9-8-2 mark last season. Yorke was named the 2003 Northwest Conference Coach of the Year.
Since 1993, Yorke has been a social studies teacher and boys varsity soccer coach at Auburn High School, where he earned South Puget Sound League Coach of the Year honors in 2000 and 2001. He also served as the girls varsity head coach at Auburn High School from 1998-2001. Prior to that, Yorke was the Green River Community College women's soccer coach from 1991-95.
Yorke played two years of college soccer at Green River
Community College before playing a year each at Pacific Lutheran
and Belhaven (Miss.). He returned to Pacific Lutheran and earned
his bachelor's degree in business administration in 1991.
Peter Voiles is in his seventh season as a Pacific Lutheran
men's soccer assistant coach.
Voiles coached three seasons with FC United of Tacoma and has been
the boys' varsity soccer coach at Sumner High School for eight
seasons. He was named the South Puget Sound League (SPSL)
North Division Coach of the Year in 2003.
Voiles played collegiately at Concordia University in Portland,
Ore. He was a member of three conference championship teams
and was named to the all-conference team in 2000. He
graduated in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education
and is a fourth grade teacher in the Auburn School District.
He and his wife, Jamie, have a daughter, Olivia, and live in
Sumner.
One of the top goal scorers in Pacific Lutheran men's soccer history, Jamie Bloomstine is in his 11th season as a PLU assistant coach.
Bloomstine started his PLU coaching career in 1997 after earning his degree from the school. In 1998 and 1999 he was a player and assistant coach for the Seattle Sounders select team, and he returned to coach at PLU in 2000. He has been a part of the program from that time forward.
During his PLU playing career, Bloomstine scored 31 career goals. He earned all-conference and all-region honors during his junior and senior years and was a 1995 third-round draft pick of the Vancouver 86ers of the A League.
He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from PLU and currently
is a teacher at Chief Leschi School. He and his wife, Tonya, have a
son, Carson.
Jared Harman, a former Pacific Lutheran men's soccer goalkeeper, returns to his alma mater for his second season as goalkeepers coach.
Harman started a total of 54 matches during a PLU career that saw him compile a 1.61 goals against average and seven shutouts. His best season came during his sophomore year when he started 18 matches and notched a 0.93 goals against average.
