Pacific Lutheran senior soccer player Aaron Grossberg was acknowledged as an NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship recipient this week for his outstanding performance on the field and in the classroom.
Grossberg, a biology major from Corvallis, Ore., was also recognized as a First Team Academic All-American for maintaining a 3.97 GPA and locking down opposing forwards on defense for the Lutes earlier this season. The scholarship entitles the Oregon native to a $7,500 grant to apply toward a university or professional school of choice upon graduation from PLU. He has intentions of pursuing his academics at a physician's assistant graduate program.
Grossberg becomes only the sixth Lute in school history to earn the prestigious award. Past PLU recipients of the NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship include Ryan Dirks (2000-01, track and field, physical education major), Lisa Ossiander (2001-02, cross country, chemistry and German double-major), Jenne Heu-Weller (2003-04, volleyball, biology major), Carrie Larsen (2003-04, track and field, Spanish major), and Andrea Wells (2004-05, softball, physical education major).
