Senior midfielder Jason Bjorgo.
A trio of Pacific Lutheran men's soccer seniors - defender Derek MacLean and midfielders Jason Bjorgo and Andy Hyres - have earned National Soccer Coaches Association of American Division III All-West Region First Team honors. Sophomore forward Chad Kearns was named to the second team.
MacLean, Bjorgo, Hyres and Kearns led a Pacific Lutheran team that finished with a 14-5 overall record and an 11-3 record in the Northwest Conference, good for second place behind national tournament quarterfinalist Whitworth. All four players earlier received first team All-Northwest Conference recognition.
MacLean was a four-year starter for the Lutes and for the past two seasons has been the leader as a central defender. He contributed three assists to the Lutes offense this season. Bjorgo finished the season with five goals and four assists, while Hyres led the Lutes with nine assists in addition to posting four goals. Kearns was the team leader with 11 goals, and he added two assists.
