Zaccagnini Earns NWC Weekly Honor

Junior midfielder Daniele Zaccagnini earned Northwest Conference men's soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors after scoring  two goals against Willamette and assisting on Pacific Lutheran's match-winning goal against Linfield.

Zaccagnini scored his first two goals of the season in Pacific Lutheran's 3-1 win at Willamette on Saturday afternoon. The following day, Zaccagnini provided the assist when Spencer Augustin's goal gave the Lutes a 2-1 double overtime decision at Linfield.

Pacific Lutheran, 2-0 in the conference and 5-2 overall, returns to Northwest Conference action this weekend when it hosts Whitman on Saturday and Whitworth on Sunday, both matches starting at 2:30 p.m. Whitworth is favored to win the conference title, while Whitman is out to repeat its second-place NWC finish from a year ago.
