Thomas Schlenker, a former rower at the University of Washington from 2002-06, was named the director of rowing and women's rowing head coach at Pacific Lutheran University in August of 2011.

Schlenker comes to PLU from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, where he was the assistant women's rowing coach and director of recruiting and operations for one year. Prior to that, he had a combined five years of club coaching experience in the greater Seattle area.

In addition to coaching at Massachusetts Lowell, Schlenker served as regatta advisor for the 2011 Massachusetts State Championship regatta and the 2011 USRowing Northeast Youth District Championships. He has completed the USRowing Advanced Coaches Training program for elite and collegiate coaches.
