Seattle U. Runs Past Lutes in Exhibition Basketball

SEATTLE - Seattle University shot 55 percent from the field and more than doubled Pacific Lutheran's rebound total in defeating the Lutes, 101-53, in a men's basketball exhibition game played Saturday night in Key Arena.

Eric Williams scored 16 points and Aaron Broussard added 15 for the Redhawks, who had 61 rebounds during the game to just 24 for PLU. The Redhawks were 39-for-71 percent from the field and also limited the Lutes to just 26 percent shooting on 15-for-57 accuracy.

Austen Wilson scored eight points and blocked three shots to lead the Lutes, who also got eight points from Kai Hoyt. Cole Parker led the team with four rebounds.

The Lutes officially open their season at 6 p.m. next Friday when they La Verne at the UPS Tipoff Classic hosted by the University of Puget Sound.
