Swanson Named Men's Golf Coach

Kristopher Swanson
Kristopher Swanson has been named men's golf coach at Pacific Lutheran University. Swanson, who served in the same capacity at Saint Martin's University two years ago, will take over for long-time coach Gary Cinotto, who stepped down following last season.
Swanson owns Performance Golf in Tumwater and provides golf lessons to students of all ages and abilities. Prior to that, he was an assistant golf professional at Tumwater Valley Municipal Golf Course from 2006-09 and at Olympia Golf & Country Club from 2004-06.
Swanson played his collegiate golf at Saint Martin's, graduating from the school in 2005 with a degree in psychology.
"PLU men's golf has a tradition of success at the conference level over the last three decades, and I believe that Kris will help continue and build on that," said Laurie Turner, PLU director of athletics.
Swanson takes over a PLU team that placed second in the 2009 Northwest Conference championship tournament.
