Jud Keim is in his 10th year on the Pacific Lutheran University football coaching staff and for the fourth consecutive season serves as assistant head coach, special teams coordinator and running backs coach. He served as the defensive backs coach for the 2004 season and was the team's defensive coordinator from 2005-09. In addition to his coaching duties, Keim is the director of PLU's intramural sports program.
His coaching background includes four seasons as the defensive coordinator at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minn., four seasons at California Lutheran University, including three years as the defensive coordinator, and two years as a graduate assistant at Mankato State (Minnesota). He also was an assistant coach for one season at Kamiak H.S. in Mukilteo, Wash.
As a PLU student-athlete, Jud was a four-year letter winner in football and track & field for the Lutes. He was a two-time all-conference running back in football. He earned his bachelor's degree from PLU in 1986 and a master's degree in Athletic Administration from Minnesota State University-Mankato in 1999.
His wife, Sari (Tollefson), is a 1987 PLU graduate and is a financial planner with Thrivent Financial for Lutherans. Jud, Sari, their daughter, Kalen, and son, Jace, reside in Gig Harbor.
