"Nellie" Celebration of Life Set for 3 p.m. Sunday

A Celebration of Life honoring John "Nellie" Nelson, who passed away last Sunday, will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 6, in Olson Auditorium on the Pacific Lutheran University campus.

Memorial gifts may be made in honor of John "Nellie" Nelson to the Office of Development, Pacific Lutheran University, Tacoma, WA 98447.  These gifts will be designated for athletic facilities that benefit the PLU football program.

Nellie, an inspiration to two decades of Pacific Lutheran football players, coaches and fans, was 44 at the time of his death. He had served in recent years as a PLU football volunteer assistant coach, taking an active role in the program's administrative duties.
