Practice Image Featured on Rowing Web Site

A picture of an early morning Pacific Lutheran rowing practice has appeared on row2k.com, a national rowing Web site, as the "Picture of the Day." (Click here to see the image on row2k.)

It's the kind of picture that members of the PLU crew team have often seen - the early morning practice on American Lake with the sun rising behind Mt. Rainier. This particular image was taken on the morning of Oct. 6 by varsity men's coxswain Mandi Nyland. The photo shows head coach Tone Lawver speaking to the the women's varsity eight after a session of skill and drill.

The athletes seated in the boat in front of the coaches launch are Alix Mackey, Audra Stafford, Rachel Kisling, Megan Anderson, Abby Smith, Megan Randich, Beth Morrison, Allysa Van Gundy, and coxswain Mellissa Severson Hampton.

Practice is underway for the crew team, which competes on Saturday, Oct. 24, at the Portland Fall Classic.
