Lutes Earn All-NWC Scholar-Athlete Honors
Pacific Lutheran graduates Leif Hansen and Erin Siebert were named to the 2009-10 All-Northwest Conference Scholar-Athlete First Team July 6.
Hansen was a four-year member of the football team and sustained a 3.91 GPA as a Biology major, earning Dean’s List honors during his PLU career. He was selected to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine/CoSIDA All-District VIII First Team and graduated with summa cum laude honors.
On the field, Hansen earned varsity letters as a starting offensive guard in 2008 and starting center in 2009 until receiving a season-ending injury. He was team co-captain in 2009 and received the team’s 2009 Oil Can Award.
Hansen also spent time off-campus as a part of the Lister-McIlvaigh school mentoring program and a mentor at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club of South Pierce County.
Siebert served as team captain for two years as a member of the Lute rowing team throughout her 2007-10 career. She was a two-year letter winner. Siebert also earned All-NWC Collegiate Rowing Conference recognition.
Siebert, a Psychology major with minors in Spanish and Sociology, finished on the Dean’s List during her four-year PLU academic career, maintaining a 3.85 GPA. She received Academic All-America honors two times as a lightweight women’s rower and was an involved participant in the PLU chapter of Psi Chi, National Honors Society for Psychology.
