What is the Lute Athletic Booster Club?
Lute Club is an organization that supports athletics at Pacific Lutheran University. The primary purpose of Lute Club is to help fund team travel, to assist facility enhancement and maintenance, and to provide quality equipment.

Lute Club - PLU's Team!
By joining Lute Club, you become a member of the PLU athletic team which includes alumni, parents and other friends of the university. It is easy to join and by doing so you are able to directly help student-athletes and athletics in general. You can be a Lute supporter with a gift of any size, and membership begins at only $500.

Dear Lutes and Friends:     

The holiday season is upon us and our fall sports have wrapped up another year. We have had a good semester with football, men's soccer and volleyball all having fantastic seasons celebrating competitive success as one of the top teams in the conference. We continue to make competitive progress in cross country and women's soccer. Our winter programs are busy practicing and beginning to compete in non-conference competitions. It looks to be an exciting winter!Your help is critical to the success of our mission. The cost of running a high-quality, successful and competitive program continues to escalate. That is why each year we turn to you and ask for your support of Lute Club, which provides essential non-tuition dollars to support our athletic program.

Your generous financial contributions are critical to the success of our mission. That is why each year we turn to you and ask for your support of Lute Club, which provides essential non-tuition dollars to support our athletic program. Our goal for the 2010-11 academic year is $200,000 and 1,500 donors. As of late November we are at $81,960 and 645 donors.

Your gifts to Lute Club will help us accomplish the following objectives:

  • Non-conference travel: Due to our location in the Pacific Northwest, PLU athletes must travel out of the area to compete in tournaments and other non-conference games and matches. Providing this travel opportunity is essential to our teams remaining competitive and providing a quality student-athlete experience.
  • Equipment: We must continue to purchase and maintain equipment for student-athletes to use both in their training and in competition.
  • Recruitment: Having an active recruiting program is essential to maintaining a successful Division III program. Providing opportunities for our coaches to travel in order to evaluate and recruit talented student-athletes to PLU is important for our competitive success.


We invite you to actively participate in the vision of developing outstanding student-athletes. Your gift to Lute Club can be designated to a specific sport or sports, or to the general fund.
